  • The Secretariat AUN-DPPnet was established in June 2016
  • 12th thematic network for the ASEAN University Network centred on a Disability and Public Policy for the ASEAN region. The University of Malaya serves as the Secretariat of AUN-DPPnet
  • The AUN-DPPnet is supported financially by The Nippon Foundation of Japan. The AUN-DPPnet aims to build a cadre of disability experts and leaders who will contribute to the vision of an ASEAN region that is inclusive, barrier-free and rights-based; and who will give impact to the policies that directly make a mark on persons with disabilities throughout ASEAN and around the world.

Vision.

“To build a cadre of leaders in the ASEAN region contributing for an inclusive, barrier-free and rights-based public policies for persons with disabilities. The trained cadre of disability-inclusive policy leaders are empowered to influence the policies that directly affect persons with disabilities in the ASEAN region”.

Mission.

“The Secretariat serves a network of ASEAN universities generating public policies that focus on the dignity of persons with disabilities, with equitable access to development processes and programs, and achieve new strides in legislation for the meaningful participation of persons with disabilities in mainstream society supporting ASEAN societies towards the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), and the Incheon-Strategy”.
