AUN-DPPnet Champions Student Leadership at IDIS 5 with 9 Distinguished Speakers at the University of Tokyo, Japan

AUN-DPPnet is delighted to announce its successful collaboration with the University of Tokyo and the University of Hawaii at Manoa for the 5th International Disability and Inclusion Symposium 2024 (IDIS 5). The event took place at the University of Tokyo, Japan, from December 1 to December 3, 2024. This year marked the fifth year of partnership with the host, the University of Tokyo, particularly the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology (RCAST) and Physical Education (PHED).

Symposium Theme & AUN-DPPnet Representative Speakers:

This year’s theme, "Student Leadership Development in Higher Education and Career Transition," highlights the importance of fostering leadership among students and its role in their transition into careers and employment.

AUN-DPPnet proudly sent 9 representatives, consisting of both disabled and able-bodied scholars, alumni, program leaders, executive board members, and the director itself, for this three-day symposium.

Looking Ahead to IDIS 6

As IDIS 5 sets the stage for impactful discussions and collaborations, AUN-DPPnet is excited to announce that the 6th International Disability and Inclusion Symposium (IDIS 6) will take place next year. With a promise of greater opportunities and improvements, we look forward to another year of a successful symposium!
